first character model and deciding art style <3
hey guysss <3 this is my first ever devlog for QTLIFE! it's kinda like a game i wanna work on >.<
now, i do want like, a ps1 or ds style for my game, with very little tris and very pixelated textures, but i also wanna incorporate my own art style into it! so like, here's a prototype model, counting at about 473 tris (including body parts underneath the clothes):

pls don't look at the uv mapping its very bad but ANYWAYS this is just a prototype (hopefully ;;) so i shouldn't be too bothered about it...
oh wait, i haven't told you who this is yet, this is basically me, or how i would imagine myself in like, my own universe (yeah thats right i have a fictional universe im kinda cringe)
ok so the process was like...first, i started with the head, and at first, the hair and the head were seperate, but i merged them to save poly count, and the face was actually a texture stuck to the head, but i duplicated parts of the face as planes for the face parts so that changing expressions won't be as much as a hassle...
then, i worked on the body, and the thing i probably struggled the most on was the fingers...yeah, for some reason i wanted the fingers on this model to be articulated, unlike almost any ps1 model, but like i said i do wanna incorporate my own style into this so yeah! also, at first all the limbs were rectangular but i made them triangular to, again, SAVE POLY COUNT (you can't really see it in the gif)
so next was the clothes, and i feel like they turned out alright, but i dont really like how the hip part of my trousers makes me look a bit fat, so i will fix that in the future!
P.S. this is actually an assignment from my teacher but i decided to incorporate my own stuff (QTLIFE) with it so yes i will work on QTLIFE
